Meet our Activities Coordinator!
E
At Elm House we understand the importance of our residents being able to embrace every day and be able to engage in activities and interaction that is therapeutic - healthy for body mind and spirit, and above all – fun!
Our community offers a blend of activities that are tailored to the individual needs and preferences of each of our residents. This can range from music activities and light exercise to conversations and films. Whatever it is that makes our residents happy, our activities coordinator Julie is always happy to make it happen!
Julie has worked as an activities coordinator for many years and has a special bond with all of our residents new and old. She is warm, understanding and a lot of fun!
Here are just some of the activities that are well loved at Elm House!...
Games
We encourage stimulating games such as bingo, Play Your Cards Right, board game competitions and host a weekly quiz for residents.

Exercise
For those that wish to take part we have regular gentle exercise, often involving music or dancing. We have chair exercise classes and outdoor exercise along with stretching and balance exercises for those who are able to participate safely.
E
Reminiscing
Julie loves to take the time to sit with our residents, either individually or a group, to talk to them about their lives, history and memories. This can involve finding old pictures or videos online that bring back fond memories, or listening to someone’s favourite music with them.
E
Beauty
Julie provides gentle massages, nail treatments, foot soaks and general pampering! Elm House also has visits from a qualified hairdresser/barber.

Entertainers
Elm House host some fantastic events which have recently involved a visit from a selection of beautiful therapy animals (and don’t forget, Elm House have our own dog the adorable Poppy!)
We regularly welcome some fantastic performers including wartime singers, magicians, dancers and visits from local children and much more.
